Hereford United manager Graham Turner accepted that his side had been fortunate to leave Mansfield Town with a 1-0 victory.

Clint Easton's early strike proved to be enough for the Bulls, who moved back into the automatic promotion places, but they had to survive a battering by the lowly Stags.

The final minute also saw further drama, as United keeper Wayne Brown saved a Michael Boulding penalty to ensure a crucial win.

Turner told the Mansfield Chad: "That was a very tough game as we thought it would be with the change of manager.

"I thought we played well first half against the wind, but in the second half I thought we were very poor and relied too much on the performance of our goalkeeper to get the three points.

"That culminated in his penalty save. It wasn't a bad penalty either, so it was a good save.

"I think we contributed to our own problems, but I thought Mansfield played very well and put us under a lot of pressure."
