Posh miss Mkandawire

Hereford United captain Tamika Mkandawire has revealed that he turned down a January transfer deadline day move to Peterborough United.

The 23-year-old centre-half is out of contract with the Bulls in the summer and is prepared to wait until the end of the season to sort out his future.

He told United's matchday programme: "You never say never, but I didn't think it was the right move. At the moment it suits me here.

"If I move, I would like it to be to a club at a higher level."

Mkandawire's team-mate Andy Williams also rejected a move away from Edgar Street in January, with Bristol Rovers failing with a £150,000 approach for the promising Bulls forward.
