Guinan's Bulls future in doubt

Leading scorer Steve Guinan's future with Hereford United is in doubt after talks over a new contract hit the buffers.

The 33-year-old netted 15 goals for the Bulls in the season just ended and has been offered a player-coach role at Edgar Street, however, Guinan seems keen to continue as just a player for the time being.

He told the Hereford Times: "I would love to stay at Hereford, but contract talks have reached a stalemate.

"With the pay cut I have been asked to take, considering that I did not get a rise to move up to League One last summer, it is just not practicable for me."

United boss John Trewick had earlier told the Worcester News: "I spoke to Steve about the possibility of the player-coach position, but at the moment nothing is happening with that.

"He hasn't been offered anything as a player at the moment, although I have left the door open for him. We haven't come to any agreement over a contract."

Meanwhile, the Bulls have confirmed that Karl Broadhurst, Bradley Hudson-Odoi and Richard Jackson have left the club, while Dean Beckwith, Stephen O'Leary and Jack McLeod have not been offered new deals.
