Bulls ace told to tone down

Hereford United midfielder Ben Smith has been urged to tone down his on-field showboating by first-team coach John Trewick.

Smith has earned the wrath of the Bulls' management for 'taking the mickey' out of opposition at times this season and Trewick insists the experienced midfielder should show more respect.

The 28-year-old returned to Edgar Street from Weymouth in January and has scored once in 16 appearances for the club.

"You do not like to abuse situations and fellow professionals can sometimes get a bit annoyed when that type of thing is happening," Trewick said referring to Smith's antics.

"It is not something we would encourage to be honest.

"We want players to express themselves and to be happy on the field, but there is a fine line between doing that and taking the mickey a little bit."
