Pitman pleased with vital point

Hereford boss Jamie Pitman believed his team worked hard for a point from a goalless draw at Rotherham. The Millers dominated both halves, with Stuart Fleetwood spurning an early chance to break the deadlock. Joe Colbeck smashed a shot against the upright for Hereford with 20 minutes remaining. "It wasn't a pretty game and the pitch was a disgrace," Pitman said. "We were playing against a side which just launched it forward and they were difficult to play against. "We dealt with the aerial onslaught pretty well because we are not the biggest side but we competed very well and got great blocks in and could have nicked it in the end. "The game opened itself up a bit in the second half. I said to the lads that we needed to do a little bit better and we had our moments. It's another point in the fight for survival. "We've played the top seven or eight and picked up points people didn't expect us to pick up. Now there are a lot of teams between us and the bottom two, and if we can keep maintaining that I am sure we will be safe."
