Pitman in rush to reach 50

Hereford boss Jamie Pitman is aiming to reach the 50-point mark as soon as possible as he looks to guide the League Two club to safety. Pitman has masterminded a resounding upturn in fortunes for the Edgar Street club since being promoted from club physio at the start of October, leading the Bulls off the foot of the table with just five points from their first 10 games. Hereford now find themselves 18th in League Two with 37 points from 31 matches - seven clear of the drop zone. No team has been relegated with 47 points in the last four seasons and Pitman is racing to reach that target. But he knows there is no `magic number` which will guarantee safety. "I think it`s very difficult to say," Pitman told Press Association Sport. "I think you want to get to 46-50 points as quickly as possible and if you can do that you get maybe a little bit of breathing space. "But you can`t worry about what everyone else is doing, all we`re trying to do is concentrate on ourselves, keep improving and trying to get results. "And that`s what we`ve done and will try to continue to do."
