Pitman blasts `silly errors'

Hereford manager Jamie Pitman blamed his side for making silly errors in a 4-0 defeat to Southend that ended an impressive record of away wins. Harry Crawford put the hosts ahead in the first half before Barry Corr fired a brace after the break to effectively decide the match. However, Jack Colbeck saw red for a foul on Sean Clohessy in second-half injury time, allowing Crawford to score his second from the spot and complete the rout. Pitman said: "If you make silly mistakes, like we have done, then you will get punished. "Maybe we should have had something early on with the chances we had, but the first goal was an error and when you look at it they are all errors, and we can't do it." Corr's goals came after the striker had been booked and could have received a second booking for a foul, but Pitman refused to point the finger at the officials, saying: "A yellow card is a yellow card and it's for the referee to decide, but the game has not been lost because of that but because of our silly errors. "But we are a good enough side to get out of it [the relegation fight] and I have the players to do it. We have 40 points and need to get another 10 as soon as we can, but the games are getting chalked off quickly."
