Home comforts for Pitman

Hereford manager Jamie Pitman was relieved after seeing his team beat Crewe 1-0 for only their third home win of the season. Stuart Fleetwood's goal midway through the first period gave the Bulls three vital points in their battle against relegation. "We have worked very hard to get the result," said Pitman. "While I don't like to pick too many out, of the back lads, Michael Townsend in particular was excellent as was Stefan Stam. From that you can build and get your chances, then, if you take them you have a chance of winning the game." Pitman was also keen to pay tribute to the Hereford crowd, who have not had a great deal to cheer about on home territory this season. "The crowd got behind us well today and it gave the team a massive lift," added Pitman, whose team have won eight times on the road. I don't think people always realise how important that is to make sure we get something from games."
