Foyle waits on Watkins

Hereford manager Martin Foyle is hopeful winger Marley Watkins could make his comeback from injury in the FA Cup second-round replay against Cheltenham.

Watkins has not featured since the goalless draw with Nuneaton in October due to a groin problem but is closing in on a return to fitness.

Striker Marlon Jackson (hamstring) and defender Michael Townsend (back) are also progressing well in their recoveries but may not be risked.

Chris Carruthers remains on the sidelines with an Achilles injury for a match which Foyle is anticipating the backing of a bumper home crowd.

"We know the tickets have gone very well and we're looking forward to a good crowd," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It's not the end of the world if we get knocked out but, financially, we know it's sat there for us and it's the future of the club."

Cheltenham can boast a fully-fit squad for the game.

Mark Yates' squad came through their impressive 3-2 victory at Northampton unscathed and the manager has no injury or suspension worries ahead of the local derby with the Bulls.

Portuguese defender Sido Jombati made his first appearance since November at Sixfields having recovered from a hernia operation while Reading loanee Lawson D'Ath was an unused substitute.

Striker Jeff Goulding missed Saturday's match after picking up a knock but he is expected to be available again.

Cheltenham know victory against the Blue Square Premier side, who held the Robins to a 1-1 draw last Monday, would set up a home tie with Everton in the third round.
