Hereford 1-2 Barnet: Match Report

12 March 2011 17:34
Bees on McLeod nine Two goals from Izale McLeod boosted Barnet's hopes of beating the drop after a 2-1 win at Hereford. Hereford made a dream start when Richard Rose lashed home a 25-yard volley inside the first minute. And the Bulls had a great chance to extend their lead when Kenny Lunt headed a Joe Colbeck cross against the crossbar shortly afterwards. But Barnet looked dangerous when they finally found their feet and the Bees were level a minute before the break. Lunt lost the ball on the left and Sam Deering's pass released McLeod to fire past Adam Bartlett. Hereford lost their way in the second period as Barnet, in a game they had to win, gradually seized control. Bartlett saved well from Mark Marshall as the Bees piled forward and followed up with double save from Matthew Parsons and Marshall. And 12 minutes from time, McLeod was left in the clear by the Hereford defence and made no mistake with a 10-yard shot. In the closing stages, Hereford pressed forward and Barnet almost profited with a third goal on a number of occasions. Substitute Charlie Taylor had the best chance but was foiled by a fine Bartlett save.
