Hereford 0-0 Burton Albion: Match Report

19 February 2011 17:19
Bulls held in stalemate Strugglers Hereford and Burton shared the points after a dour goalless draw at Edgar Street. While there were no goals, referee Mark Brown had a busy game, sending off Burton's Russell Penn in the first half and Hereford skipper Janos Kovacs just after the break. Two yellow cards inside the first 25 minutes ended Penn`s involvement in proceedings as the first half produced few chances at either end. But it was Hereford who came the closest to scoring with a fine effort from Waide Fairhurst which came back off the bar five minutes before the interval. The game, which had been edging towards Hereford, evened up seven minutes after the interval with Kovacs' dismissal for a second yellow card. And without the tall centre-back, Hereford struggled to counteract the height of Calvin Zola, who missed with a couple of headers before directing another on to the far post.
