Fleetwood double downs Gulls

Stuart Fleetwood grabbed a double as Hereford put further distance between themselves and the League Two relegation zone with a 3-1 win over Torquay. The Gulls got off to the perfect start with on-loan Shrewsbury striker Jake Robinson marking his debut by giving his side an eighth-minute lead with a clever lob. Hereford replied when lively Stuart Fleetwood beat home keeper Scott Bevan and central defender Guy Branston to level with his own deft finish in the 14th minute. Fleetwood then grabbed his second with a neat finish after rounding Bevan before Joe Colbeck missed a golden chance to make it 3-1. Hereford then had penalty claims waved away, while Torquay went close when central defender Chris Robertson nodded just over from Nicholson's flag kick from the right. Substitute Nicky Featherstone put the result beyond doubt, though, when he roofed home a thumping 80th-minute volley.
