Bulls better Brewers

Hereford eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win - their first win since late October - as Burton's promotion push stalled.

The Brewers had Andy Corbett sent off as they crashed to only their second home loss of the season despite Ross Atkins' penalty save from Tom Barkhuizen.

Will Evans gave the Bulls the lead in the 23rd minute with a sweet strike from the edge of the penalty area after Burton had failed to clear to a Joe Colbeck cross.

Barkhuizen could have doubled the advantage seven minutes later but his close range header from Colbeck's flick on was off target.

Lethargic Burton had to wait until the stroke of half-time for their first opening but Billy Kee's six-yard shot was deflected over.

Hereford had another chance to extend their lead five minutes after the break but Simon Clist's curling shot went narrowly wide.

Burton had full-back Corbett sent off for bringing down Barkhuizen in the area in the 65th minute, but Ross Atkins briefly kept Burton in the contest by brilliantly keeping out Barkhuizen's spot kick.

However, there was nothing Atkins could do to prevent Yoann Arquin from sealing the points for the Bulls with superb 25-yard shot in the 78th minute.
