Bulls edge closer to safety

Hereford boss Jamie Pitman counted the 1-1 draw at home to Northampton as another point closer to safety for his side. Andy Holt had given the Cobblers the lead just after half-time, but Waide Fairhurst's third goal in three games levelled matters for the Bulls, who are now on 34 points, six clear of the relegation zone. Pitman said: "It's another point gained for us. The quicker we can get to that 46-point mark the better, although that might yet have to be 50." Hereford have won just twice at their Edgar Street this season and Pitman admitted: "We have to show a bit more ruthlessness at home - we seem to do it away, but not here. "We need to be a bit brighter in and around the opposition box." On his team's goal, he added: "It was a great ball in from Ryan Green and I've been telling Waide Fairhurst to keep getting in there. That's what he did and he got his reward."
