Barnett leaves it late

Tyrone Barnett's late strike earned Macclesfield a 2-2 draw against Hereford in a hard-fought contest at Edgar Street. The Silkmen deservedly went in front in the 18th minute when an overhead shot from Tony Diagne was spilled over the line by Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett. Hereford, however, levelled from the spot in the 40th minute when Rob Purdie sent goalkeeper Jose Veiga the wrong way after Isak Reid brought down Joe Colbeck. Bartlett came to Hereford's rescue soon after when he saved at the feet of Sinclair before Paul Bolland fired a 25-yard shot against the crossbar just after the interval. Hereford were then reduced to 10 men in the 69th minute when captain Michael Townsend was sent off, but they went ahead a minute later when Fleetwood beat goalkeeper Veiga with a low shot into the far corner of the net. But with time running out, Barnett came up with Macclesfield's equaliser with a powerful header at the far post.
