May helps Bees sting Bulls

Substitute Ben May's first-half equaliser proved enough for Barnet to maintain their three-point cushion over Hereford - and the League Two relegation places - following a 1-1 draw at Underhill

The draw moved Hereford off the bottom and a point above Macclesfield, who play Crewe on Saturday, but the Bulls remain in the drop zone after relinquishing their lead.

The visitors went ahead after 11 minutes when journeyman striker Delroy Facey - who was relegated from the Football League with Lincoln last season - nodded home Ben Purkiss' fine cross.

But striker May repaid manager Lawrie Sanchez's faith, after being brought on with just 25 minutes gone, when he volleyed home a bouncing ball five minutes later to level the scores just after the half-hour mark.

Mark Hughes and 22-goal striker Izale McLeod saw shots whistle agonisingly wide for Barnet but Hereford should have taken the lead after 78 minutes when Tom Barkhuizen charged down a clearance only for substitute Yoann Arquin to take two horrific touches and miss one-on-one.

Clovis Kamdjo then blocked Arquin's shot on the line with his stomach on the stroke of added time as the spoils were shared.
