What provides best VFM for Hearts?

Money and lack of space in Gorgie means the club have to consider moving. Vitalijus Vasillauskas believes moving to a new stadium will give the Hearts the best chance for success. Nothing will go ahead until they have heard what the fans have to say. There is a questionnaire on the official website to hear how the fans feel about a potential move away from Tynecastle to a purpose-built ground.  It is not a a dome deal as the club are working with City of Edinburgh Council to consider a possible redevelopment of the Gorgie Road stadium, but Vasillauskas says leaving Tynecastle could be the most beneficial option for Hearts.  Vasillauskas said: "Finances are probably the main reason why we are trying to get a new approach for this development. We have looked at the cost of how much it will take to build a new stand and it looks like it's an expensive way to do that. We are keen to stay at Tynecastle but we're also thinking about a new era for Hearts. Hearts are a big club and we have to play in Europe every year. There are no big clubs in Europe playing in small stadiums. We think we're big enough to have a bigger stadium and we have to present ourselves as a competitor to the Old Firm. We can't survive if we do not develop. We believe we can attract much bigger crowds if we have a bigger capacity. We have to consider what the fans want to do. We are asking their opinion, what is the future for Hearts? We're looking for the balance that takes in finances and tradition. We are trying to ask all the fans at Hearts what their view is on the development. Are they keen to stay and be a community club or want Hearts as a much bigger club? We are trying to do our best to reduce the financial pressure on the club and to get it right. If we move the new ground must be very close to Tynecastle. Probably the biggest challenge for us is to find a place like this. It can be a decision-making time this summer - are we staying or are we leaving?"
