Thomson pens Hearts deal

Hearts defender Jason Thomson has signed a new three-year contract with the Tynecastle club.

Thomson, 21, has made nine appearances this season while deputising for injured captain Robbie Neilson.

"I am delighted with the new contract. The club approached me with the offer and it's great that my future is now settled for the next few years," he told the club's official website.

"I thought I did okay when I got the chance this season. Now I hope to push on and try to play more regularly next season.

"It's a great club to be at if you are a young player and my aim is to keep working hard and develop my game."
