Two goals in the opening 16 minutes saw Hearts sink to a 2-0 defeat to Wolves at Tynecastle as they continued their preparations for their Clydesdale Bank Premier League campaign.

The Jambos found themselves a goal down after just four minutes when Greg Halford's free-kick found its way into Marian Kello's net.

Mick McCarthy's side then doubled their lead 12 minutes later when a throw-in came into the box and Stephen Ward headed home. Although the home side responded well to the setback it was the Barclays Premier League team who came closest to scoring when Kevin Doyle's thunderous shot hit the woodwork.

Aberdeen left it late to salvage a 2-2 draw against Brechin with Andrew Considine equalising against the Second Division side in the last minute.

It was the SPL side who led at half time when Fraser Fyvie slotted home after a quarter of an hour following an Andrew Considine cross as the Dons capped their best football of the pre-season so far.

However, David McKenna pulled the hosts level two minutes after the break before Rory McAllister headed home to put them ahead.

It looked to have been sufficient to claim victory before Adrian Hartley chipped in a top delivery which Considine headed home.

Dundee United enjoyed a 4-1 victory at Forfar with David Goodwillie claiming a double.

Forfar took an early lead before Price Buaben equalised after a quarter of an hour. Andis Shala put the Terrors ahead before Goodwillie rounded off a solo run with a goal after 68 minutes and the same player got his second three minutes later.

Meanwhile, St Mirren rounded off their tour of Northern Ireland with a 1-1 draw against Derry City.
