Neilson targets return date

Hearts defender Robbie Neilson believes he could be back in full training before the end of October.

The Scotland full-back has been out of action since undergoing surgery on an ankle injury during pre-season.

But after resuming running at the club's Riccarton training ground this week, Neilson now has his sights set on stepping up his comeback with some competitive action.

"Hopefully, I'll get the all-clear in 10 days' time and I can get back into full training," he told the club's official website.

"I'd like to be back well before Christmas. I haven't played for a while so I need to get a few reserve games before pushing for a first-team game."
