McGlynn: No achy breaky hearts

Hearts manager John McGlynn believes his Jambos side's luck could soon turn when they play host to Motherwell. Hearts have won two of their nine matches this season and are near the foot of a congested SPL table ahead of tomorrow's clash with Motherwell at Tynecastle. McGlynn is confident of a change in fortunes. He said: "How many points is there between us and Motherwell? Four. That's not a lot. And that's the team that was third last year. "There's nothing in the league table that can't be turned around. "Two or three victories... you look at St Johnstone, look where they are. Look where Aberdeen are, look where Hibs are, teams that weren't doing well last year. "We're playing well enough. We just need to get the ball in the back of the net and I'm very, very confident things will turn around." The week at Tynecastle has been overshadowed by the delayed payment of October's salaries. McGlynn and the six players affected had been told their pay would arrive by close of play yesterday, three days late, but there was still no confirmation today. Financial concerns aside, scoring has been a problem for Hearts, according to McGlynn, but a possible solution is former Well forward John Sutton. Sutton has struggled to find the form he demonstrated at Fir Park since moving to Edinburgh at the beginning of the 2011-12 season and was sent to Australia's A-League on loan for the second half of last term. He has cut something of an isolated figure up front for Hearts, but McGlynn maintains belief in the striker's ability. "We've really only got John Sutton as an experienced striker," the manager added. "We're going down the route of bringing in young players for the long-term. "John could very well play a big part, he could score a few goals. "We have to get the ball in the back of the net. We've been a bit inconsistent in front of goal." McGlynn recognises the challenge Motherwell pose. He added: "They did very well last season and that breeds a confidence. They're going to be one of the teams that should be up there. "Motherwell have started the season very well. They've got the top scorer in the SPL at the minute in Higdon. He's been scoring goals for fun. "It's up to us. We're at home on Sunday and we've got to make the most of it. "It would be a good victory for us to get that win."
