Jamie McAllister has insisted Hearts' players are fully behind new coach Graham Rix, despite the hostile reaction from supporters to his appointment.
The Jambos faithful were quick to voice their anger about the choice of ex-Portsmouth and Oxford United boss Rix, with his unimpressive track record in management and criminal record both causes for concern.
However, McAllister is not worried by the furore surrounding Rix's arrival and believes he could become a key figure in bringing success to Tynecastle.
"The players were upbeat after just one day with Graham Rix," said the 27-year-old defender.
"We are looking forward to the long haul with him - we've all been impressed with him so far.
"The fans have to support the team and back the coach. Graham's enthusiasm shines through when he comes in for training and he is looking for the boys to do well.
"He is gradually putting his mark on the team and showing his different techniques and coaching skills. It's very high-tempo, positive and it's enjoyable to go into training.
"It will take time for Graham to get across to the team exactly what he wants but he is not one to totally revolutionise football.
"He just wants the boys to keep doing what they're doing which is winning games week in, week out. It's not broken so he does not have to fix much."
