Lennon backs Hearts to challenge

St Mirren manager Danny Lennon believes Hearts have the potential for an unlikely Clydesdale Bank Premier League title challenge after seeing them overcome his own team in style. Lennon felt Hearts were worthy winners in Paisley as David Templeton, about to be substituted on the hour mark, suddenly emerged the hero for the visitors. First he put Hearts ahead after 63 minutes, then was hauled down by the red-carded John Potter for Kevin Kyle to double the advantage from the penalty spot and complete a 2-0 win. Lennon said: "The game ran away from us in the second half. In the first half I felt they put us under pressure with the quality they had, but we probably had the best two chances. "Hearts deserved their victory. I felt they were really strong in the second half, they got the momentum and were picking up second balls. If anybody can go and split the Old Firm I think Hearts could. "We could see the board go up and knew they were going to take David Templeton off, but it just shows when you have a quiet game you can still do something about it when you have his quality. I thought we'd done well against him, but he's a matchwinner."
