Kyle could face United

Hearts striker Kevin Kyle may yet be available for Saturday's trip to Dundee United after having a cortisone injection to ease the discomfort caused by a groin problem.

Kyle, who has netted 10 goals this season, saw a specialist on Thursday and received the injection. He will be assessed over the next 24 hours to see how he reacts. Only then will it be determined if Kyle, who limped off during the Scottish Cup loss to St Johnstone on Tuesday, can make the trip to Tannadice.

Hearts assistant manager Billy Brown told the club's official website, www.heartsfc.co.uk: "Kevin went to see the specialist and it appears the problem is a legacy of a previous injury. He was given an injection which will hopefully do the trick. We'll see how he is on Friday and I'm certainly not ruling him out of being involved on Saturday."

Brown added: "He's desperate to play, he loves being involved and we'll give him every chance to make it."
