Kello gunning for Old Firm
Marian Kello has been inspirational as Hearts have climbed to third place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and the goalkeeper is looking upwards to splitting the Old Firm.
The Hearts goalkeeper was on Thursday named Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month for February - perhaps an award for his consistently strong performances this term as much as during last month. Kello was an integral figure in helping Hearts consolidate their third-placed position behind Celtic and Rangers in the SPL.
Kello is hoping Hearts - 16 points ahead of fourth-placed Kilmarnock and four behind second-placed Rangers - can climb another place in the table. He said: "It's my biggest wish now to be there. I was very disappointed about the result (at Aberdeen). I was happy about the clean sheet, but not about the result."
He added: "If we could get second spot it would be great for the team, for the club and for the supporters."
Kello has been an important figure in Hearts' strong season to date and did not have to pick the ball out of his net at all in November.
He was happy to claim the award for February.
He said: "I had five clean sheets in a row in one month and nothing really happened. I don't know why now.
"I was surprised because there are plenty of good players in the league and in form.
"I was very pleased about it as well as surprised."
