Jonsson blow for Jambos

Iceland international Eggert Jonsson has been told he is unlikely to play for Hearts again until the end of October.

The 21-year-old needs surgery after tearing a muscle during Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Rangers, a game which also saw Calum Elliot pick up an injury that will sidelined him for two months.

"This isn't good news but what can we do?" manager Csaba Laszlo told the club's official website.

"He'll be a miss for us but Eggert is a strong professional and he'll work hard to get back as soon as he can. Injuries are part of football life and we don't have the luck with this at the moment."
