John McGlynn Darren Randolph lucky to avoid red card

Hearts manager John McGlynn felt Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph was a lucky man to have avoided a red card during the 0-0 draw at Fir Park. Randolph caught Callum Paterson with his leg as he collected a high ball in the early exchanges but referee Crawford Allan deemed the challenge not worthy of a card of any description. McGlynn said: "We thought his foot was in a place where it probably shouldn't have been, to be honest. "I don't think the boy was being malicious about it but it could have ended up worse than it actually was. I think he maybe got lucky. "I haven't seen it again, but that's how I saw it. I think his leg seemed to go in an unnatural position. "I think Callum has actually passed the boy's knee. I think it was his trailing foot. He had a sore head at half-time and took painkillers."
