Hearts manager Jim Jefferies believes the 3-0 reverse at home to Kilmarnock could be a blessing in disguise for his side.[LNB] Hearts missed the opportunity to climb to third in the Scottish Premier League as Kilmarnock moved off the bottom with an emphatic victory, with Frazer Wright, Conor Sammon and Alexei Eremenko on target.[LNB]There was an expectation at Tynecastle ahead of yesterday's clash, with Hearts looking for a third straight win a week after beating St Mirren 3-0.[LNB]But the home fans were brought back down to earth by a commanding display from Killie, which issued a dose of realism ahead of Sunday's Edinburgh derby with Hibernian at Easter Road.[LNB]"Sometimes things happen to make you realise everything isn't always straightforward," said Jefferies. [LNB]"A lot of people turned up because Kilmarnock were bottom of the league and they wondered how many we were going to win by.[LNB]"We were worried that wasn't going to be the case and Kilmarnock proved me right.[LNB]"We can have no complaints, they were quicker and sharper and their movement was better.[LNB]"It's maybe a timely reminder - we had a chance to go third in the league - that in this league you can't take anybody for granted.[LNB]"You've got to go and earn the right to win - Kilmarnock came here and did that and deserved to win the game."[LNB]Jefferies anticipates his team will need no additional motivation in training this week ahead of Sunday's capital clash.[LNB]Hibs lost 1-0 at Dundee United on Saturday in an improved display in Colin Calderwood's second match in charge and the derby is always a competitive affair.[LNB]And Hearts' Polish midfielder Adrian Mrowiec insists it is a game they must win in order to reclaim some momentum following Sunday's loss.[LNB]He said: "We played a very bad game. I don't know what happened.[LNB]"Two mistakes and we lose 3-0.[LNB]"We have to forget and look forward to the next game.[LNB]"The derby is a very important game for us - we'll do everything to win the game."[LNB]Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen was quick to praise his defence after a clinical attacking display earned victory.[LNB]Killie have now scored eight times away from Rugby Park this season - two more than in the whole of last term - but yesterday's result was just a second clean sheet of the season.[LNB]"We've conceded this season too many goals for my liking and everyone was fantastic," said Paatelainen.[LNB]"This is a good match to analyse with the boys and look at the positive stuff they did defensively."[LNB]Paatelainen was also pleased Killie's strong performances were finally awarded with a victory after four straight defeats.[LNB]The manager substituted Rui Miguel before half-time yesterday, before explaining why by putting a consoling arm around the striker.[LNB]"It was purely tactical," said Paatelainen.[LNB]"Rui Miguel is a fantastic football player, technically excellent, a player who can make things happen.[LNB]"But I felt I made a mistake playing his type of player and I wanted to tell him exactly why."
