Jefferies wants to build on wins

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies is desperate to make it three wins out of three following the successes against Hibernian and Celtic.[LNB] Jefferies has revelled in two 2-0 SPL League victories this week but still has the recent 3-0 loss at home to Kilmarnock on his mind.[LNB]Jefferies is therefore wary of complacency against St Johnstone, a side who have lost their last four in all competitions, conceding 13 in the process.[LNB]"Results wise and some of the performances, it certainly has been a good week, but we want to finish it off," said Jefferies.[LNB]"The week's not complete yet until we play on Saturday, so it would be nice if we can follow it up with a performance.[LNB]"That's what we've got to guard against, because we've won two tough, important matches, thinking everything is just going to be a formality on Saturday.[LNB]"This game's got a habit and you can't take anything for granted.[LNB]"We've got to do what we did in the two games and hopefully it will be good enough and it will finish off a great week."[LNB]It has been a good week for Hearts off the pitch too, with £10million worth of debt wiped out in a debt for equity scheme arranged by Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.[LNB]Jefferies was also given the added boost by confirmation of Marius Zaliukas' contract extension, the Lithuania international defender and Hearts captain signing a three-year deal to stay at Tynecastle following a long contract impasse.[LNB]Jefferies added: "It was all tied up yesterday, but it had all been agreed verbally.[LNB]"It was just a case of no last-minute hitches and I'm really pleased that it's gone through because he is the captain and he is an important player for us - he's been outstanding."[LNB]Kevin Kyle earned a call up to Craig Levein's Scotland squad for next week's friendly with the Faroe Islands and Jefferies has been pleased with the striker's contribution after a couple of lacklustre displays.[LNB]"He wouldn't have got it on the performances against Kilmarnock and St Mirren," said Jefferies.[LNB]"We had a chat about that and the big man responded great.[LNB]"Craig was at the Hibs game, watched him, and if he's looking for that type of player, Kevin's up there - he must be a nightmare to play against if he puts himself about like he has done in the last couple of games."[LNB]There was positive news on Lee Wallace and Andrew Driver, currently out with knee and thigh injuries, respectively - the duo are poised to resume full training in two to three weeks time.[LNB]But the good news was tempered with the announcement that winger Suso Santana will undergo a knee operation.[LNB]The 25-year-old Spaniard was a substitute in Hearts' two wins this week, but was required for only three minutes in Wednesday's victory over the Bhoys at Tynecastle due to the scintillating form of David Templeton.[LNB]Santana has been troubled by the niggling problem for a number of weeks and Hearts will now send him for surgery.[LNB]"He's had this wee cartilage problem which keeps swelling up after games," said Jefferies.[LNB]"He'll get it done tomorrow morning because it will just get worse."[LNB]Saints have called a precautionary pitch inspection for 9am for Saturday morning, with doubts over the McDiarmid Park surface due to recent heavy rain.
