Manager Jim Jefferies has expressed delight after Hearts' third-placed finish in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League was confirmed.

Rangers' 2-0 win over fourth-placed Dundee United on Tuesday night means Hearts cannot be caught, irrespective of results against Celtic on Wednesday night or at Tannadice on Sunday.

Jefferies said on Hearts' official website, www.heartsfc.co.uk: "We are all looking forward to the final home game of the season against Celtic. We have achieved our objective of qualifying for Europe and with that European place now clinched, we want the fans to come along and celebrate it in style."

He added: "Hopefully we can do our part by giving them a victory (against Celtic).

"It's been a terrific season and the players have done brilliantly. We'd like the supporters to come along and enjoy the party."
