Jefferies bemused by Accies approach

Hearts boss Jim Jefferies claimed Hamilton's surrender of the ball in the first half was more than unusual as his side ran out 2-0 winners at New Douglas Park. Accies boss Billy Reid set his side up with five defenders and a lone striker but the home side could hardly get a touch of the ball before Stephen Elliott headed the visitors into the lead after 22 minutes. Elliott scored again a minute after the restart to leave the Lanarkshire side bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table and still without a home league win this season. Jefferies said: "The first half was a strange situation. I don't think I have been involved in a game in the SPL where we had so much possession. "I can understand why they set up that way. It might have been a huge respect for us, but I think it was for them trying to battle for every point. "We got a bit sloppy in the last 20 minutes but it was a right good performance."
