Jambos vow to keep Gordon

Hearts assistant coach John McGlynn insists highly-rated goalkeeper Craig Gordon is going nowhere.

The 23-year-old kept a clean sheet for Scotland on Saturday as Walter Smith's side beat France 1-0 at Hampden Park and impressed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who has tipped Gordon to go on to better things in the game.

But McGlynn told the Edinburgh Evening News: "At this stage, we don't want to lose Craig Gordon. It's nice that somebody like Arsene Wenger is backing up what we think.

"No doubt, as Craig matures, he'll want to try that level as he's an ambitious guy. But he signed a new contract less than a year ago and he mentioned at the time he didn't want to go somewhere and not be first choice."
