The Portuguese player has not been considered for selection in recent weeks because of his failure to sign a contract extension.[LNB]The 24-year-old is considering his future following fresh contract talks with Hearts last week but Jefferies insists there are no ulterior motives on the club's part.[LNB]"If he comes into the team and does well then he's the same as any player," Jefferies told the Edinburgh Evening News.[LNB]"If we get offered decent money for him then it will be considered. It's not right to state we will just sign him and then sell him in the summer."[LNB]Jefferies, whose team earned their first win in four games since his return to the club with a 3-2 victory over Falkirk on Saturday, believes the situation will be resolved soon.[LNB]"We've left that in Jose's hands, he hasn't been put under any pressure," the former Kilmarnock boss added.[LNB]"He said he'd give us an answer on Friday but he had the weekend to think about it and then we see where we are.[LNB]"Jose has got to remember discussions have been going on for a while and he could run the risk of the offer being taken off the table.[LNB]"I don't know for sure because we haven't got to that stage, but I've seen it happen in the past."[LNB][LNB]
