Hearts lose injured Mrowiec

Hearts midfielder Adrian Mrowiec will not play again until the new year following surgery on a long-running knee problem.

The 24-year-old has made just two appearances since arriving at Tynecastle on loan from FBK Kaunas last summer and has gone under the knife in a bid to cure the problem.

"Adrian has had this problem for a little while," manager Csaba Laszlo told the club's official website.

"It is unfortunate but having visited a specialist, it was decided that an operation was required.

"He had it done earlier this week and it is unlikely that he will be featuring for us before the new year."
