Hearts' Balogh bid falters

Hearts' bid to sign Debrecen goalkeeper Janos Balogh on a permanent basis appear to have fallen through.

The 26-year-old Hungarian has impressed during his loan spell at Tynecastle and has been a regular starter in Csaba Laszlo's starting line-up for the last three months.

Hearts had been keen to make the arrangement permanent, but Debrecen are reportedly unhappy with the transfer fee the Edinburgh club have offered.

Laszlo said: "It is not in my hands now. At the moment I try to do the best that I can and now the board must decide what happens.

"Janos is a professional and I am sure that if he has to go back and his last game is against Kilmarnock then he will still go out and do his best for the club."
