Australian international defender Ryan McGowan is poised to move to China after Hearts manager John McGlynn revealed on Wednesday that the Scottish side have accepted a bid from an unnamed Chinese club.

As a result, the 23-year-old full-back has been removed from the Hearts squad for the Edinburgh derby against Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League on Thursday.

"The club have accepted a bid for Ryan so he won't play any part in the game tomorrow (Thursday)," McGlynn said.

"He's not put pen to paper. It's disappointing to lose him but if good offers come in, we need to accept them."

Hearts, who are mired in financial problems, are reported to have accepted a bid worth in the region of £400,000 ($650,000, 490,000 euros) for the player.

McGlynn said he did not know the identity of the Chinese club but he believed they were based in Shanghai.

McGowan, who joined Hearts in 2006, visited the club's training base on Wednesday to say goodbye to his team-mates and support staff.
