Hearts 2-1 Raith: Match Report

Super six for Hearts

Hearts registered a sixth Scottish Championship home win on the bounce as they saw off Raith 2-1.

The champions have been in imperious form at Tynecastle and registered their 15th win from 17 games and took their goal tally to 55.

The biggest surprise of the afternoon was that it took them 33 minutes to take the lead and it came when Sam Nicholson finished coolly with a low shot.

Their second came 11 minutes after the restart when Soufian El Hassanaoui fired into the corner following good work from Callum Paterson.

Hearts could have been expected to go on and run riot but Raith clearly had not read the script and got back in it through Calum Elliot, who finished smartly after being released on the left.

Jamie Walker could have made the game safe for Hearts but they held out anyway for another win.
