Hartley open to Scotland return

Experienced Bristol City midfielder Paul Hartley has revealed he is open to a move back to Scotland as it remains unclear whether he features in manager Steve Coppell's plans for the season.

Hearts are said to be tracking the progress of the ex-Scotland international and will make their move if his services are no longer required at Ashton Gate.

Hartley told the Bristol Evening Post: "I would never say never. I had a great time at Hearts and I know Jim Jefferies well, having spoken to him over the years. I have another year left on my contract here, but I've always wanted to come back up the road. I'll just wait and see what happens."
