Glen pens new Hearts deal

Hearts have agreed a new four-year contract with teenage hot-shot Gary Glen.

Glen, 18, made an immediate impact on the first team after scoring on his first start in last weekend's 3-2 win over St Mirren.

The Livingston-born striker will now remain at Tynecastle until summer 2012.

"I am obviously delighted to sign this new deal," he told the club's official website.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead of me, but having experienced first-team football this season, I want to keep my head down and try to gain more opportunities."

Caretaker manager Stephen Frail added: "We have high hopes for the lad.

"This is just the start for him and he has to knuckle down and make sure he is ready to make the most of whatever opportunities may come his way."
