Driver too pricey for Burnley

Hearts will have to look elsewhere for somebody to pay the price they want for Driver Burnley manager Brian Laws has ended his interest in Andrew Driver after accusing Hearts of being stubborn over the asking price for the winger. The Clarets have had two bids for the 22-year-old rejected as Hearts value Driver at £5m and want £3.5million up front. Laws said: "It's dead, they're being stubborn - it's too many things I feel uncomfortable with. It's not just Driver. There are other players and we're waiting for those to fall into place. We're hoping to make rapid progress over the next 48 hours and we'll be happy with either one that we get. A lot of clubs think, because we are fairly comfortable with money, they just pluck a number out of the sky and that's what we will pay. We are experienced people in football and we know the values of players and what we are comfortable with. We are not going to throw all the money we have away and the Driver situation was getting out of hand."
