Havant and W 0-2 Droylsden: Report

Havant bow out to Droylsden Havant & Waterlooville fans can forget about any FA Cup heroics against the likes of Liverpool for another year as Droylsden grabbed a deserved 2-0 victory at West Leigh Park. The visitors broke the deadlock through centre-back John Hardiker and secured their path to the second round with Ciaran Kilheeney's late goal. The home side dominated the opening exchanges and had the first chance of the game in the 14th minute but Manny Williams fired over when one-on-one with Droylsden keeper Paul Phillips. Kilheeney shoud have put Droylsden in the lead just five minutes later only to somehow turn a whipped cross over the bar from six yards out. But 10 minutes after the break the travelling faithful did have something to cheer about as Hardiker met a Liam Brownhill corner to powerfully head home. And as the home side looked for an equaliser they were caught short at the back and Kilheeney slotted home from six yards to put Droylsden in the hat.
