Provett ensures Pools point

Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper admitted his side had been poor in their 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers at Victoria Park.

A Mickey Barron goal five minutes before the break earned a point for Pools, but Cooper was less than satisfied with the display.

He said: "It was a poor performance. We gave the ball away far too much and didn't play our football as we can.

"Our keeper was brilliant, but that's what we've come to expect from him. I've never seen a better one for his age."

Jim Provett also earned praise from Chairboys caretaker manager John Gorman, who added: "Their goalkeeper was outstanding, but in the second half we had enough chances to win the game."
