Wilson lays into Artell

Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson slammed Chester City defender Dave Artell after seeing his side lose 2-1 at the Deva Stadium.

Pools had Jon Daly sent off just 17 minutes into the game, with Wilson blaming Artell for making a meal of the challenge.

He said: "I am not necessarily angry with the referee, but I am with their central defender.

"This is the first time in my 30 years in the game that I have personally experienced one player trying to get the other sent off. He has conned the referee.

"Jon Daly has taken an elbow in the face seconds earlier and nothing has been given, so for him to get sent off is an absolute disgrace. It was the turning point of the game."
