Wilson impressed by Jones

Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson is looking forward to working with new signing Ritchie Jones, who netted on his Pools debut at the weekend.

The 21-year-old former Manchester United midfielder impressed on the right flank for Pools and left Wilson purring over the potential of the versatile youngster.

He told the Northern Echo: "Ritchie has a great engine and pace and he linked up well with the right-back, that's an important job for us.

"You can't be too cavalier, but he offered good protection for the full-backs and he will keep getting in those positions because he is a fit boy.

"I don't see Ritchie solely as a right midfielder at this moment in time."
