Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson insists he has no concerns about starting the new season with inexperienced keeper Arran Lee-Barrett as his number one.
Lee-Barrett, 23, joined Pools from Coventry City as the replacement for Dimi Konstantopoulos, who had already headed in the opposite direction.
Wilson has not ruled out signing a more experienced keeper, but claims he has no qualms about throwing Lee-Barrett into the firing line.
"I would have no concerns whatsoever," he told the club's official website.
"He wants to be playing for the first team and I would have no hesitation about starting the season with him in goal.
"Of course, if the opportunity comes up to bring in an experienced goalkeeper then we would look at it.
"You want to have the strongest squad possible and that means competition for places.
"But I have no doubt Arran will be pushing for that number one spot."
