Walsh set for goalkeeping post

The former Manchester United and Middlesbrough keeper succeeds George Wood, who left the club last month. Walsh started his playing career at Old Trafford and spent a decade with the Reds before moving to Middlesbrough in 1995. He also played for Bradford and finished his playing career at Wigan, where he took his first steps into coaching under manager Paul Jewell. Walsh followed Jewell to Derby in January 2008 and remained at Pride Park until Nigel Clough became manager at the beginning of this year.
