Turner set for tough Pools task
With fallen Premier League giants Charlton, Southampton and Norwich coming down for the Championship and Brentford, Exeter, Wycombe and Gillingham promoted from the basement division, Pools will be just one of six teams based north of Birmingham next term. And Turner feels the long, arduous away trips will only make an already very competitive league even more challenging for his side. "The three clubs coming down will definitely be pleasurable trips because we are playing new teams," Turner told Hartlepool Mail. "But it is going to be a tough season all round because of the quality of the division and the travelling to away games. "I think the league itself will perhaps be at its strongest ever simply due to the quality of teams which are coming into the division. "When you look at the likes of MK Dons, Leeds, Huddersfield and Brighton (reportedly the subject of a £50m takeover) there will be some money in it. For clubs like ourselves, it is becoming harder and harder to get back to where we were in the play-off final days."
