Hartlepool United manager Chris Turner was pleased with the side's pre-season trip to Netherlands and he believes it has placed them in a better stead ahead of the new League One campaign.
The north east-based outfit secured a 1-1 draw with Den Bosch and he was particularly pleased with his midfielders.
Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "For the second game of pre season I thought that was a terrific performance.
"When we went one up I felt we could have held on to that but overall we showed a good work ethic, kept the ball well, passed it around and I was very pleased with everyone.
"In the second half I felt we controlled it and the three midfield men in (Joe) Gamble, (Paul) Murray and (Antony) Sweeney had excellent games.
"This trip has been good not just for games, but for getting the lads together again after the break in a relaxed environment where we can do the work we need to."
