Sweeney craving central role

The 25-year-old regained his favoured slot towards the end of this year having deputised at right-back for Chris Turner's side. And Sweeney, a graduate of the club's youth system, is convinced his best position is in the middle of the park. He told the Hartlepool Mail: "Obviously I was asked last season whether I would mind playing right-back and I didn't. "I wanted to play and that was the position I was given and I thoroughly enjoyed it. "But being back in the middle is where I feel most comfortable and hopefully that will show in my performances. Central midfield is where I want to establish myself next season."
