Sweeney appeal fails

Hartlepool United midfielder Anthony Sweeney will be suspended for one match after having his appeal against the red card he was handed in Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Macclesfield Town rejected.
The FA upheld the referee's controversial decision to send Sweeney off for deliberate handball on the stroke of half-time at Moss Rose.
Video replays appeared to show the ball struck the player in the face.
The 23-year-old will miss Tuesday's League Two clash at Notts County.
